Foley, AP.- An Indian family of four tragically froze to death while crossing the Canada-U.S. border in January 2022, highlighting the increasing dangers of human smuggling. Jagdish Patel, his wife, and two children were among a group of migrants smuggled into the U.S. by two men, Harshkumar Patel and Steve Shand, who face trial for their involvement. Despite the bitter cold and inadequate clothing, the migrants trekked across snow-filled fields, leading to the deaths of the Patels. This tragedy reflects the growing number of Indians illegally crossing the northern border in search of better opportunities, often falling prey to ruthless smuggling operations.
